Our engineers developed a proprietary machining allowance protocol, calculating the precise material removal needed to account for the exact thickness of the electroplated layer. This required deep knowledge of both machining stresses and coating behavior.

Tight Tolerances for UAV Systems

Produce a critical UAV installation bracket from AL7075-T6 with a hard black anodized finish. The component demanded 5-axis CNC machining and extraordinary geometric precision: ±0.005mm positional tolerance and 0.01mm parallelism/perpendicularity control.

SYM Solution:

We executed a two-phase engineering lock-in. Our process integrated deformation-compensated programming and anodizing allowance calculations. First-article CMM data was used to perform root-cause analysis on clamping and stress errors, leading to program and fixture optimization.

The second article was fully qualified. We then successfully delivered the entire batch order, with every bracket meeting all ultra-tight tolerances post-anodization.
